colour mechanics

Highlights

Sections of hair are separated and coloured either lighter, darker or richer in tone. Perfect to achieve a natural sun kissed look. Choose to either have a T-section (root parting and front section), Half head or Full head of high/lowlights.

Tint/permanent colour

Permanent colour acts to lighten the hair's natural pigment to form a new base and then to add a new permanent colour.
The end result is a combination of your natural hair pigment and the new shade you chose. It is also great for covering grey hair as
it is 100% coverage.

Semi permanent

Semi permanent colour is a great introduction to colour. It is a softer more natural looking colour that will fade and lighten over time. The most important fact is that although the colour will fade it is still half permanent so some colour will remain on the hair. It does not cover white hair up to 100% like a permanent colour will. Semi permanent colour can cover up to 50% of white hair. The semi permanent colour will just naturally blend the grey hair in with the rest of the colour.

Bleach and tone

When hair bleach is applied to the scalp to make the hair whiter or lighter. Bleaching is a tool that we use to take colour or pigment out of the hair and to lighten the hair. The professional term is a ‘pre-lightener’. During this process, you are pulling the pigment from the hair, stripping away the colour. Your final colour comes from the toning process. You can do so much with a toner. It is the most important part of the colour service. On blonde hair a toner neutralises unwanted warm tones making the colour a more clean silvery colour or if we added a warm toner for example will make the hair more coppery perhaps. Bolder with something not as natural looking maybe hot pink or bright yellow. Bleach and tone is a high committal colour service but looks great.

Colour change/correction

A colour change/correction is wanting an extreme change or altering an unfortunate experience with a hair colour. ... colour corrections can also be used to get rid of unwanted yellow or brassy tones. Everyone`s hair is different, therefore every single colour correction process is different hence the reason we offer a consultation and price on consultation.

Balayage

Balayage is a technique of highlighting hair in which the stylist sweeps bleach or hair colour on to sections of the hair by hand to create natural looking, graduated layers of highlights with a less apparent regrowth line than traditional highlights.

Ombré

Ombré is generally darker at the roots through the mid-shaft and then gradually gets lighter from the mid-shaft to the ends.

Jemma

Thank you, lovely fuss free cut and nice people. I avoid hairdressers like the plague as I never enjoy it. But Eileen was fab, such a nice lady. Thank you

Sarah

I was attending a function at the Park Plaza. The concierge recommended this place. Crystal did an amazing job on my hair. Loved it, highly recommended the salon, but especially Crystal. Thank you again.
